You do it. You don’t “just do it”—but you do it.
You get out of bed, you stand up from your chair, you ask for help and you set out on a journey that you can’t be 100% sure when or how it will end. But still, you go. And you do it.
You take a leap of faith. You make your choices. You take the risk. You do it.
I know. I know what you are thinking. You are thinking you are not good enough. You are thinking you lack the spark, the means, the time to do it.
You are thinking you are not ready yet. Or that you are too late. Or that you have nothing left to give any more.
I’ll tell you what: these thoughts are your worst enemies. Because they are preventing you from trying and failing and trying again.
I don’t believe in success. I believe in failure. A long-lost friend once showed me a quote by Samuel Beckett that got me thinking ever since: “Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” Apparently, this quote has been extracted from a text that is essentially pessimistic, yet entrepreneurs all over the world have changed the intention behind these words to mean precisely the opposite and to see failure from a down-to-earth, positive perspective.
That’s because all active entrepreneurs, regardless of their revenue, their experience and their luck, are on the same boat—they are each living their own journey, walking their own road somewhere. None of them are waiting for a miracle to happen, for luck to give them their cue.
They are out there struggling They are up to something, against all odds. I mean something whose outcome they are unable to predict. Yet they keep on, they struggle, they keep doing.
Entrepreneur—doer of deeds. Indeed, you can only start by doing. You grow by doing.
So if it is some form of failure what’s been keeping you waiting so far, you are being willingly blind to the real truth: you can’t fail while you are quiet and still, while you are not even trying, while you are playing it safe.
Already doing but don’t see any results yet? Perhaps it’s too soon for the results you are expecting. Perhaps you need to change your game now.
Endeavour.
That is not my piece of advice. That is my motto that I am sharing with you: endeavour.
