In a sea of blabbering players where everyone seems to claim they have 'reinvented the wheel' and are taking self-attributed credit for it, how can you tell who is an actual spacialist in this value-added, high-visibility service and who is just pretending to 'know how' while trying to sell, sell, sell at all costs?
For six years and counting, I have been working as an English><Spanish (LAT, Argentina) transcreator and cultural consultant on a daily basis. And I love it!
I have a strong background in marketing and advertising, I firmly believe in and constantly practise CPD and I am truly passionate about every step in a creative process, from brainstorming to even despair when the greatest ideas seem to have escaped me and a deadline is approaching so what do I do?
It is that very adrenaline that pushes me forward when I have to conjure up how to say something in a language and for a culture which are quite different from the source language and culture.
I can create under pressure because pressure fuels my creativity in a manner I couldn't exactly explain why. But I am not trying to explain it. After all, Steve Jobs once said that "When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things."
So I am used to working under pressure and doing my best in spite of time constraints, character restrictions and even handling other transcreation jobs with similar deadlines.
I transcreate all sorts of ad and marketing copy (from slogans and taglines to in-app ads, web banners and blogs). My transcreated content is usually aimed at several different formats and media, and I work in a wide variety of industries, such as Food & Beverage, Travel & Hospitality, Games, Human Resources and others.
If you or the brands you work with want to go global but still resonate with locals, transcreation is the answer and I am your expert choice. 😃
