Let's demystify quantity over quality
and keep sharing our magic
Working in such close terms with people from all over my country, Argentina, has made me realise a long-forgotten truth for many of us social media users, content marketers and business owners from miscellaneous industries:
You don’t need to be an influencer to make an impact on other people’s lives.
You don’t need to have hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram to help others pursue their dreams and start doing.
You don’t need hundreds of friends on Facebook to know you are worth it, whatever ‘it’ may mean for you right now.
You don’t need to reach out to thousands of strangers on LinkedIn to create content that matters.
You don’t need to post every day to help someone see something in a new, refreshing, perhaps ground-breaking light.
And nope, you don’t need tons of Likes and comments to know your content is helping someone out there get closer to achieving their own personal and professional goals.
Because they are reading.
Trust me, regardless of all algorithms and daily distractions, the people who want to have a share in your magic are reading.
Yes, magic. That’s what we each of us content writers come here to do, right?
We come here to share our magic with the interested few who are willing to take it.
We share it in the hope that they will, indeed, take it. Own it. Put it to good use.
So if you think you’re not good enough because you’re not getting any new Likes or messages or contacts or followers this week and the ones to come, hey—you are missing the point.
Your people, your own (little? but) warm community of avid readers are there making the most of your content and (secretly?) thanking you for it.
So keep writing. Keep blogging. Keep vlogging. Keep sharing.
Keep sharing your magic with the world.
Because even when you lack the numbers that tell you you are doing awesome, odds are you are already making a difference to someone. Yourself included.
